A contiguidade geogr\u00e1fica entre pa\u00edses n\u00e3o garante, por si s\u00f3, rela\u00e7\u00f5es de proximidade com a l\u00edngua e cultura do outro. Estudos como os de Putsche e Faucompr\u00e9 (2016), por exemplo, no contexto da fronteira entre Fran\u00e7a e Alemanha, demonstram que as representa\u00e7\u00f5es sociais e culturais constru\u00eddas ao longo da trajet\u00f3ria escolar influenciam diretamente o ensino e a aprendizagem de l\u00ednguas vizinhas, destacando a import\u00e2ncia de uma forma\u00e7\u00e3o docente que contemple a complexidade das identidades lingu\u00edsticas e culturais fronteiri\u00e7as. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">De modo semelhante, pesquisas recentes, como as de Goenechea, Mach\u00edn \u00c1lvarez e Belkat (2024) e Gallego-Noche et al. (2023), exploram as percep\u00e7\u00f5es de jovens residentes nas regi\u00f5es fronteiri\u00e7as entre Espanha e Marrocos, particularmente no Estreito de Gibraltar. Esses estudos analisam as identidades culturais, a experi\u00eancia da multiculturalidade e as din\u00e2micas de oportunidades e tens\u00f5es vividas nesses espa\u00e7os. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">Ainda no contexto das fronteiras europeias, pesquisas realizadas entre Portugal e Espanha, como as de Louren\u00e7o-Sim\u00f5es, Ara\u00fajo e S\u00e1 e Matesanz (2024a e 2024b), Ulh\u00f4a e Ara\u00fajo e S\u00e1 (2024a e 2024b), Matesanz del Barrio, Ferreira Martins e Ara\u00fajo e S\u00e1 (2023), e Castro e Schwambach (2023) documentam e analisam criticamente os resultados do projeto <em>Escolas Bil\u00edngues e Interculturais de Fronteira<\/em> (PEBIF) entre Portugal e Espanha, argumentando a relev\u00e2ncia da coopera\u00e7\u00e3o transfronteiri\u00e7a para articular sistemas educacionais distintos e construir redes de partilha de experi\u00eancias, com foco na forma\u00e7\u00e3o continuada de professores. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">De forma complementar,&nbsp; Outros estudos, como os de Santos (2017), Diniz-Pereira e Tallei (2021), Sturza (2019), Guimar\u00e3es <em>et al<\/em> (2024) e Ferreira Martins (2022), exploram as din\u00e2micas sociolingu\u00edsticas, educacionais e culturais nas fronteiras brasileiras, abordando as simetrias e assimetrias que afetam o uso das l\u00ednguas, as pr\u00e1ticas docentes e as atitudes lingu\u00edsticas. J\u00e1 na fronteira M\u00e9xico-EUA, Herrera-Rocha e De la Piedra (2019) mostram como programas bilingues de transi\u00e7\u00e3o frequentemente resultam na assimila\u00e7\u00e3o lingu\u00edstica ao ingl\u00eas e no abandono de l\u00ednguas maternas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Os estudos citados convergem na necessidade de construir conhecimento colaborativo a respeito das estruturas e caracter\u00edsticas das rela\u00e7\u00f5es transfronteiri\u00e7as, com foco no ensino e na forma\u00e7\u00e3o de professores. As fronteiras, mais do que divisores geopol\u00edticos, s\u00e3o constru\u00e7\u00f5es hist\u00f3ricas, pol\u00edticas, simb\u00f3licas e culturais que moldam as pr\u00e1ticas e viv\u00eancias de seus habitantes (Anzald\u00faa, 2012) ou, em outros termos, \u201cfronteiras s\u00e3o espa\u00e7os de negocia\u00e7\u00e3o simb\u00f3lica, trocas e transgress\u00f5es culturais\u201d (Francis, 2017, p.108).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">Os fen\u00f3menos de fronteira permitem, assim, colocar uma s\u00e9rie de quest\u00f5es, tanto conceptuais como pr\u00e1ticas, para educadores, formadores e investigadores em educa\u00e7\u00e3o, decorrentes do contato e da concorr\u00eancia das l\u00ednguas, mas tamb\u00e9m do valor da colabora\u00e7\u00e3o e coopera\u00e7\u00e3o entre regi\u00f5es, seus atores e institui\u00e7\u00f5es.
