How to get to Aveiro
From Oporto to Aveiro
If you’re flying into Porto, the best way to get to Aveiro is to take the metro and then the train (about 40 minutes on the metro and 1 hour on the train). The best station in Porto for this trip is Porto-Campanhã, and you can get from Porto airport to Porto-Campanhã station by taxi/Uber or metro (cheaper, about 40 minutes). You can take the metro just outside the airport to Porto-Campanhã, where there are regular trains to Aveiro. The cheapest option is to take the urban train (U). The fastest (but more expensive) option is to take the Alfa Pendular (AP) train.
From Lisbon to Aveiro
If you’re flying to Lisbon, the best way to travel to Aveiro is also by train (approximately 2h30m trip). The best Lisbon train station for this trip is Lisboa-Oriente. The journey from the Lisbon airport to the Lisboa-Oriente train station can be done by bus, taxi/Uber or subway (less expensive, about 15 minutes). You can catch the subway just outside the airport and head to Lisboa-Oriente, where you will find regular trains to Aveiro. The less expensive option is to catch the Intercidades (IC) train. The fastest option (but more expensive) is to take the Alfa Pendular (AP) train.
From the Aveiro train station to the University of Aveiro
The Aveiro train station is at a 2 km distance from the Department of Education and Psychology of the University of Aveiro. You can take this journey by feet (approximately 30 minutes), bus, taxi, Uber or bus. You will want to exit the train station by its front entrance, where you will find a beautiful tiles mural.
